Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. All the levels on a standard STAX Hi-fi Rack can be re-arranged to suit your personal preference. The only level that cannot be moved is the 80mmm base level under the first shelf as this has 'height adjusters' fitted.

All the glass components we use in our furniture is toughened safety glass conforming to British Standard BS6062A. The recommended weight tolerance of our 10mm safety glass shelves is 50Kg & the recommended weight tolerance of our 15mm glass shelves is 100Kg.

We do not supply acoustic spikes with our Hi-fi racks, however they can be fitted. The racks are constructed with M6 threaded rods, which have floor height adjusters fitted as standard, but can be replaced with 6mm screw-on acoustic spikes.

The majority of our furniture is delivered fully-assembled &ready to go. However, the STAX range of Hi-Fi racks are self-assembly products. [The modular nature of the STAX range, and the fact that they were designed to allow flexibility in how the shelf heights are arranged, means that this particular product lends itself to self-assembly.]

Although we can manufacture just about any piece of furniture in just about any solid wood, we have deliberately chosen to design our AV furniture using "real wood" veneers over reconstituted wood board.
The reasons for this are three-fold:
1] Solid woods are subject to movement. The nature of solid wood as a "living product" means that long-term stability can be an issue.
2] AV equipment generates a lot of heat. This can contribute to further movement & warping in solid woods.
3] Loudpeaker manufacturers generally manufacture their wood-finished products using "real wood" veneer over medium density fibreboard. Their rationale is that this produces the best combination of sound damping & stability.
The people behind BLOK are 'third generation' furniture manufacturers and it is this expertise that has guided our choice in product materials. It is why we are able to offer our BLOK Solid five year guarantee against functional defects on our entire range of AV furniture.
